Ten Thousand Villages Fair Trade Oriental Rug Event, Join us for our Annual Oriental Rug Event, featuring over 300 handknotted rugs all made by fairly paid adults, from 2'x3's to 10'x14's. Since our store is not large enough to carry these rugs year round, we host this special event once a year to bring these high quality, fairly traded handknotted rugs to our community from the Bunyaad Rug Room at Ten Thousand Villages, Ephrata, Pennsylvania.  It's an event not to miss as these fairly traded rugs represent a win-win situation for all. Halloween Candy Buyback, Join us for an evening of games, face painting and more as we swap candy for cash in honor of our troops! Dr. Carpenter will be buying back Halloween candy to donate to Operation Gratitude for distribution to service men and women deployed overseas. Wear your costumes for an extra prize! Children will receive $1 per pound of candy, up to $10. All candy must be in original wrappers. The child who donates the most candy will also win $50. You can also earn money for your school! The school with the most candy dropped off by its students will receive a $100 donation. Last October, we collected 200 pounds of candy for our soldiers and sent along toothpaste, toothbrushes, floss, letters of appreciation and more! We will also be accepting other care package items, including: Small stuffed animals, Socks - beige, khaki and dark colors are preferred, Beef jerky, Individual packages of hot cereal, Energy/Protein bars, DVDs/CDs, and Letters of appreciation. Operation Gratitude is a non-profit organization that brings smiles to soldiers faces by sending individual care packages to soldiers in harm's way. Visit to learn more.
